Robe A La Polonaise

This is my first polonaise gown using a different ruching technique on the trim.

Quite pleased with the trim turnout.

I left the back unfinished so that I can more easily tailor the gown to the customer's measurements. This gown is for sale on my etsy shop HauteCostumes.

I know the flowers aren't the same, but the colors are right.

The dress is 100% cotton while the petticoat is 100% polyester.

The flowers can be removed, they're only pinned on.

I studied the film segment many many times and I believe that it paid off.

Inspiration: Gone With The Wind 1939

The white ruffle dress (also known as the prayer dress) in the opening scenes, inspired this one.

Copy Cat: Marie Antoinette Masquerade Dress

Marie Antoinette has been an obsession and curiosity for me since the 2006 movie came out. The black masquerade dress was my ideal costume for Halloween 2008.

The design is my own, but I tried to copy the original dress as close as I could.
